MINDStruktur: two high-school friends take experimentation into professional ground

Leopoldo García Castellanos founded an alliance of consultancies with nodes in Mexico and Zurich. I run a laboratory of imagination. We work in tandem.

There is no way to sell smoke to someone who knew you at sixteen. That is why this alliance works.

Leopoldo García Castellanos and I went to the same high school and grew up in the same neighborhood. We have known each other since before either of us had a trade, and there is no way to sell smoke to someone who knew you at sixteen. That is the reason this alliance works.

Who Polo is.

Puebla, 1980. A humanist trained at the University of Salamanca, photographer, strategist and digital product developer. He lived thirteen years in Europe, between 2005 and 2018: he was art director of the magazine Kath'autón, designed Spanish-language education programs for Italian companies, coordinated the campaign image of the Greens of Salamanca, founded the social network Erasbook and was assistant director of VEITH Group's regional center in Madrid. He has exhibited his photographic work in Mexico and Spain, including two large-format urban interventions in Salamanca. Back in Mexico he founded arco[studio] in 2018, and later MINDStruktur: an alliance of independent consultancies with nodes in Mexico and Zurich that works across strategy, marketing, legal, finance and artificial intelligence to turn complex businesses into systems that work. A user of artificial intelligence since before it was fashionable, he now develops micro apps and SaaS: Bartleby, a distraction-free writing environment; Flux, for agencies; Tranxcript, legal document transcription for Mexican law firms. And he is writing Impensable, an essay in political philosophy.

What each of us brings.

Syncron iA brings the imagination and the method: the question, the prototype, the daimon, the test with your hands in it. MINDStruktur brings the system: the strategy, the custom software, the adoption of artificial intelligence into real processes, and the execution that survives a Monday. One opens the door and the other builds the house on the other side.

That lets us reach three kinds of ground I cannot reach alone. The professional one, where a firm or a consultant needs a working method of their own with the machine. The business one, where a small or mid-sized company needs artificial intelligence to enter its processes without breaking them. And the one with high technical demands, where software, integrations and systems are needed that do not fit inside a chat.

What we do together.

We give talks together on artificial intelligence applied to audiovisual production and the creative industries: he from the system, I from the imagination, and the room keeps both halves. And when a company brings a challenge that needs both things at once, imagination and system, we take it on between us, each house under its own name.

What it proves.

That experimentation is not a writer's hobby. Put together with a system, it becomes a service a company can hire, measure and defend in front of its board. And that an alliance does not have to be an agency with a new logo: it is two houses with their own names, their own trades and their own people, who call each other when the challenge asks for it.

This case is still being written.

The projects we have done together will be told here, one by one, with what worked and what did not.
